丙辰中秋，欢饮达旦，大醉，作此篇，兼怀子由。
译文：丙辰年的中秋节，高兴地喝酒直到第二天早晨，喝到大醉，写了这首词，同时思念弟弟苏辙。
注释：丙辰：指公元1076年（宋神宗熙宁九年）。这一年苏轼在密州(今山东省诸城市)任太守。达旦：到天亮。子由：苏轼的弟弟苏辙的字。
明月几时有？把酒问青天。不知天上宫阙，今夕是何年。我欲乘风归去，又恐琼楼玉宇，高处不胜寒。起舞弄清影，何似在人间？(何似一作：何时；又恐一作：惟/唯恐)
译文：明月从什么时候才开始出现的？我端起酒杯遥问苍天。不知道在天上的宫殿，何年何月。我想要乘御清风回到天上，又恐怕在美玉砌成的楼宇，受不住高耸九天的寒冷。翩翩起舞玩赏着月下清影，哪像是在人间。
注释：把酒：端起酒杯。把，执、持。天上宫阙：指月中宫殿。阙，古代城墙后的石台。归去：回去，这里指回到月宫里去。琼楼玉宇：美玉砌成的楼宇，指想象中的仙宫。不胜：经受不住。胜：承担、承受。弄清影：意思是月光下的身影也跟着做出各种舞姿。弄：赏玩。何似：何如，哪里比得上。
转朱阁，低绮户，照无眠。不应有恨，何事长向别时圆？人有悲欢离合，月有阴晴圆缺，此事古难全。但愿人长久，千里共婵娟。(长向一作：偏向)
译文：月儿转过朱红色的楼阁，低低地挂在雕花的窗户上，照着没有睡意的自己。明月不该对人们有什么怨恨吧，为什么偏在人们离别时才圆呢？人有悲欢离合的变迁，月有阴晴圆缺的转换，这种事自古来难以周全。只希望这世上所有人的亲人能平安健康，即便相隔千里，也能共享这美好的月光。
注释：转朱阁，低绮户，照无眠：月儿移动，转过了朱红色的楼阁，低低地挂在雕花的窗户上，照着没有睡意的人（指诗人自己）。朱阁：朱红的华丽楼阁。绮户：雕饰华丽的门窗。不应有恨，何事长向别时圆：（月儿）不该（对人们）有什么怨恨吧，为什么偏在人们分离时圆呢？何事：为什么。此事：指人的“欢”“合”和月的“晴”“圆”。但：只。千里共婵娟：只希望两人年年平安﹐虽然相隔千里，也能一起欣赏这美好的月光。共：一起欣赏。婵娟：指月亮。

苏轼（1037－1101），北宋文学家、书画家、美食家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。汉族，四川人，葬于颍昌（今河南省平顶山市郏县）。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为“唐宋八大家”之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡“士人画”。著有《苏东坡全集》和《东坡乐府》等。
