译文
一院子的菊花金黄金黄，中间有一丛白似霜的花儿是这么孤独。
就像今天的酒席，老人家进了少年去的地方。
注释
郁金黄：花名，即金桂，这里形容金黄色的菊花似郁金黄。
孤丛：孤独的一丛。
白头翁：诗人自谓。
重阳席上赋白菊创作背景
这首诗是作者晚年时在一个重阳日与客饮酒赏菊有感而作，约作于大和九年（835年）。

重阳席上赋白菊鉴赏
白居易这首《重阳席上赋白菊》诗写得新颖而别致，词约而意丰。全诗表达了诗人虽然年老仍有少年的情趣。以花喻人，饶有情趣。
题为“赋白菊”，诗开头却先道满园的菊花都是金黄色。“满园花菊郁金黄，中有孤丛色似霜。”这是用陪衬的手法，使下句中那白色的“孤丛”更为突出，犹如“万绿丛中一点红”，那一点红色也就更加显目了。“满”“郁”与“孤”两相对照，白菊更为引入注目。“色似霜”生动的比喻，描绘了白菊皎洁的色彩。
更妙的是后两句：“还似今朝歌酒席，白头翁人少年场。”诗人由花联想到人，联想到歌酒席上的情景，比喻自然贴切，看似信手拈来，其实是由于诗人随时留心观察生活，故能迅速从现实生活中来选取材料，作出具体而生动的比喻。这一比喻紧扣题意，出人意料又在情理之中。结句“白头翁人少年场”，颇有情趣。白菊虽是“孤丛”，好似“白头翁”，但是却与众“少年”在一起，并不觉孤寂、苍老，仍然充满青春活力。

白居易（772年－846年），字乐天，号香山居士，又号醉吟先生，祖籍太原，到其曾祖父时迁居下邽，生于河南新郑。是唐代伟大的现实主义诗人，唐代三大诗人之一。白居易与元稹共同倡导新乐府运动，世称“元白”，与刘禹锡并称“刘白”。白居易的诗歌题材广泛，形式多样，语言平易通俗，有“诗魔”和“诗王”之称。官至翰林学士、左赞善大夫。公元846年，白居易在洛阳逝世，葬于香山。有《白氏长庆集》传世，代表诗作有《长恨歌》、《卖炭翁》、《琵琶行》等。
