扣舷不能寐，浩露清衣襟。
幽兴惜瑶草，素怀寄鸣琴。
三奏月初上，寂寥寒江深。
月夜江行鉴赏
这是一首写羁旅之思的五言律诗。
开头二句：“扣舷不能寐，浩露清衣襟”。这里，出现在读者面前的是一位悲伤满面、夜不能寐的行旅者。他忧思重重，满腹愁肠。却又不知如何排遣内心的苦闷，只是机械地用手敲着船舷。夜深了，繁露打湿了他的衣襟，他感到了深深的凉意，但却依然痛苦地伫立在船头。上一句，“扣舷”二字，不仅点出题中的“江行”，而且是以外在的动作显露内心的痛苦。下一句，“浩露”，即繁露。它暗示出时间已至深夜，而旅人待在船头的时间也已很久，因此衣襟都清凉起来。诗人以饱尝旅途风霜雨露的境况，映衬出心境的凄凉，这是以内在的感受来写内心痛苦的。
第三、四句，是点明其痛苦的原因：前一句是对开头二句的总括。并且进一步说，在这孤舟远行的夜晚，处处都在触发着惹人伤感的情怀。这就形象地写出了自己那种无法诉说的苦情。关于如此难耐的原由，后一句接着说：因为自己的一颗心正与万里之外的那颗心相系着。这句诗妙在不是从单方面入手来写相思之情的。而是说，自己与亲人虽相隔万里，但却心心相印。因此，“远结万里心”比起单说“远思万里人”来，诗的意蕴就丰富得多，诗的韵味也更加深醇了。
第五、六句：诗人抒写了相思离别的情怀。上一句，“惜瑶草”江淹《别赋》有云：“君结绶兮千里，惜瑶草之徒芳。”是说丈夫出外为官，闺中少妇自怜青春独处。“瑶草”，即香草，为少妇自喻。此处借用其意，以不无解嘲的语气说：我的深趣就在于怜惜妻子的青春独处。下一句，“鸣琴”，即琴。意思是说：今夜我要以琴声来寄托自己平日的怀抱，这或许能够排遣我内心的苦闷吧！这两句诗不仅注意对仗的工整，而且在结构上起着承上启下的作用。“惜瑶草”，是对前面诗意的承接；“寄鸣琴”，又开启了后面的诗意。
最后两句：诗人通过展现一幅孤寂凄清的寒江月夜图，进一步表达羁旅苦情。“三奏月初上”，既点出题中的“月夜”，又写出反复弹奏鸣琴的情景。诗人原想借弹琴排遣苦闷的，无奈苦闷尚未消除，又见到了冉冉升起的明月。“举头望明月，低头思故乡”，这对孤身远客来说，又添了一层行役情思。也使原已悲苦的旅人，其苦情又向前推进了一层。然而，还不仅如此。诗人此时面对的是月色溶溶下的寂静空旷的令人生寒的大江。而诗人的心境，也好似这条凄凉寂寞的“寒江”。这儿的“深”字用得十分精当。

权德舆，唐代文学家。字载之。天水略阳（今甘肃秦安）人。后徙润州丹徒（今江苏镇江）。德宗时，召为太常博士，改左补阙，迁起居舍人、知制诰，进中书舍人。宪宗时，拜礼部尚书、同中书门下平章事，后徙刑部尚书，复以检校吏部尚书出为山南西道节度使。卒谥文，后人称为权文公。
