译文
我骑着马独自从西方那远在天边的地方归来，扬起马鞭急切地赶路，好像是和鸟儿在争先一样。九月时节我在交河北岸给你送别，风雪中题完诗时不觉泪水已经沾满了衣服。
注释
天外：指塞外离家乡远得好像在天外一样。
交河：指河的名字。
争飞：争着和鸟儿飞，比喻急切的心情。
扬鞭只共鸟争飞：一句说明岑参想还京的欣喜急切的心情，扬起马鞭拼命赶路像和鸟儿争先一样。
雪里题诗泪满衣：一是对好友还京离去的不舍，另一更重要的是反映出作者自身仍得滞留异域的苦闷，久戍塞外对家乡的思念之情。

岑参（约715-770年），唐代边塞诗人，南阳人，太宗时功臣岑文本重孙，后徙居江陵。[1-2] 岑参早岁孤贫，从兄就读，遍览史籍。唐玄宗天宝三载（744年）进士，初为率府兵曹参军。后两次从军边塞，先在安西节度使高仙芝幕府掌书记；天宝末年，封常清为安西北庭节度使时，为其幕府判官。代宗时，曾官嘉州刺史（今四川乐山），世称“岑嘉州”。大历五年（770年）卒于成都。
