相思过度，以致魂不守舍，恍惚迷离中竟将红色看成绿色。思念后果，身体憔悴，精神恍惚。
如果你不相信我近来因思念你而流泪。那就开箱看看我石榴裙上的斑斑泪痕吧。

看朱成碧：朱，红色；碧，青绿色。看朱成碧，把红色看成绿色。
思纷纷：思绪纷乱。
憔悴：瘦弱，面色不好看。
比来：近来
石榴裙：典故出自梁元帝《乌栖曲》。“芙蓉为带石榴裙”。本意是指红色裙子，转意指女性美妙的风情，因此才有了“拜倒在石榴裙下”一说。
如意娘创作背景
太宗崩，武则天居感业寺为尼。高宗李治在寺中看见她，复召入宫，拜昭仪。武则天在感业寺的四年，是她人生中最失意的四年，但祸兮福之所伏，武则天在感业寺的日子也充满了命运的转机。在感业寺，武则天写下了她最有名的诗歌《如意娘》，史载这首诗是写给唐高宗李治的。

如意娘鉴赏
《乐苑》上说：“《如意娘》，商调曲，唐则天皇后所作也。”武则天十四岁入宫为才人，太宗李世民赐号武媚。而后太宗崩，居感业寺为尼。高宗李治在寺中看见她，复召入宫，拜昭仪。武则天在感业寺的四年，是她人生中最失意的四年，但祸兮福之所伏，武则天在感业寺的日子也充满了命运的转机。在感业寺，武则天写下了她最有名的诗歌《如意娘》，史载这首诗是写给唐高宗李治的。或许，正是这首诗，使得李治才忽然想到尚在削发为尼的旧GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>情人武媚。
《如意娘》一诗极写相思愁苦之感，短短四句，传达出多层次多方位的复杂情绪。
首句“看朱成碧思纷纷”赋比兴兼具，有多重含意。一来明写抒情主人公相思过度，以致魂不守舍，恍惚迷离中竟将红色看成绿色。梁王僧孺诗“谁知心眼乱，看朱忽成碧”（《夜愁示诸宾》）为此句所本。正是心乱眼花使这位痴情女子五色不辨。二来暗指美好春光的流逝，眼见花红褪尽，枝头只剩下绿叶。三来借喻自己只身独处，花红叶绿不能相扶；又喻自己红颜薄命，由昔日欢聚的幸福坠入今日冰冷的相思之苦。
“朱”、“碧”两种反差极大的颜色，构成了强烈的感情的冷暖对照。眼前和一片寒冷碧绿触目伤怀，引起思虑万千。“憔悴支离为忆君”一句直抒胸臆。从外表写入内心，尽言思妇的瘦弱不支和心力交瘁。至此，这两行诗辗转写的是凄切，是寂寞，是深深地哀怨。情绪的流向较为单一。
接下来，作者笔锋一转，打破一二句的和弦，以全新的节奏和韵律再现诗的主题：“不信比来长下泪，开箱验取石榴裙。”意谓：如果你不相信我近来因思念你而流泪，那就开箱看看我石榴裙上的斑斑泪痕吧！执著、决然、不掩饰、不造作的独特形象跃然纸上，李白的《长相思》写“不信妾断肠，归来看去明镜前”与此句构思相似。这两句是全诗的高潮，它丰富了诗歌的情绪构成。“不信”句诉说着“断肠”的相思，也隐含着相思的无可奈何，相思的难以喻说。
《如意娘》写得曲折有致，较好地融合南北朝乐府风格于一体，是武则天的上乘之作，对后世有一定的影响。
看朱成碧后来成为唐宋人常用成语。李白诗：“催弦拂柱与君饮，看朱成碧颜始红。”也可以说看碧成朱。辛弃疾词：“倚栏看碧成朱，等闲褪了香袍粉。”《柳亭诗话》载：李白的《长相思》一诗中有“昔日横波目，今成流泪泉。不信妾肠断，归来看取明镜前”之句，据说李白的夫人看了这首诗，对他说：“君不闻武后诗乎？‘不信比来常下泪，开箱验取石榴裙’。”李白听了后“爽然若失”。后来有“刿目鉥心、掐擢胃肾”之称的孟郊又写出了“试妾与君泪，两处滴池水。看取芙蓉花，今年为谁死！”这样语出惊人的句子。但溯其本源，还是承袭了武则天的创意。

武则天（624年－705年），并州文水（今山西文水县东）人。中国历史上唯一一个正统的女皇帝，也是即位年龄最大（67岁即位）、寿命最长的皇帝之一（终年82岁）。十四岁入后宫为唐太宗的才人，唐太宗赐号媚娘，唐高宗时初为昭仪，后为皇后，尊号为天后。后自立为皇帝，定洛阳为都，改称神都，建立武周王朝，神龙元年（705年）正月，武则天病笃，宰相张柬之发动兵变，迫使武氏退位，史称神龙革命。唐中宗复辟，后遵武氏遗命改称“则天大圣皇后”，唐玄宗开元四年（716年），改谥号为则天皇后，天宝八载（749年），加谥则天顺圣皇后。
