西江月·日日深杯酒满鉴赏
这首词写作者晚年以诗、酒花为乐事的闲淡生活，用语浅自而意味悠远，流露出一种闲旷的情调。
“日日深杯酒满，朝朝小圃花开”，起首两句写出词人终日醉饮花前的生活。深杯酒满见得饮兴之酣畅，小圃花开点出居处之雅致。无一字及人，而人的精神风貌已隐然可见。这正是借物写人之法的妙用。“自歌自舞自开怀，且喜无拘无碍”，抒情主人公的正面形象出现了。三个“自”隔字重叠，着力突出自由自在、自得其乐的神态，自然地带出“无拘无碍”一句。
整个上片洋溢着轻松自适的情致，行文亦畅达流转，宛若一曲悦耳的牧歌。两句一转，由物及人，既敞露心怀，又避免给人以浅显平直之感。
至下片文情陡变，两个对句表达了作者对世事人生的认识，所谓人类的历史不过是几场短暂春梦杂沓无序的联缀，无论怎样的奇士贤才都终究不免归于黄泉。这是历尽沧桑，饱经忧患之后的感喟，无疑含有消极的虚无意识。此词写作时代大致正忠良屈死而奸佞当道之时，“黄泉”（“红尘”）句也隐含着深深的悲愤之情。
这时，朱敦儒那种壮怀远抱已被消蚀殆尽了，字里行间仍存苦怀，有一种无可奈何的心绪。他自以为看破了红尘，不复希冀有所作为，把一切都交付给那变幻莫测的命运去主宰，自己“不须计较与安排”，只要“领取而今现在”，求得片时欢乐也就心满意足了。
末句不啻是对上片所描述的闲逸自得生活之底蕴的概括和揭示。这句在结构上也是有力的收束。上片写景叙事，下片议论感叹，有情景相生、借景达情之妙。
这是一首清新淡雅，韵味天成的小词，语意俱佳。

朱敦儒 （1081－1159），字希真，洛阳人。历兵部郎中、临安府通判、秘书郎、都官员外郎、两浙东路提点刑狱，致仕，居嘉禾。绍兴二十九年（1159）卒。有词三卷，名《樵歌》。朱敦儒获得“词俊”之名，与“诗俊”陈与义等并称为“洛中八俊” （楼钥《跋朱岩壑鹤赋及送闾丘使君诗》）
