译文
春风骀荡，景色宜人，我来辞别往日最喜爱的湖上亭。微风中，亭边柳条、藤蔓轻盈招展，仿佛是伸出无数多情的手臂牵扯我的衣襟，不让我离去。
这情景真叫人意惹情牵，不胜留恋；住了这么久了，亭边柳树枝头的黄莺，也跟我是老相识了。在这即将分离的时刻，别情依依，鸣声悠悠，动人心弦，使人久久难于平静。

这首诗作于诗人搬家时，因对故居有着深厚感情，难以割舍故居的一草一木，故有此作。

诗人采用拟人化的表现手法，创造了这一童话般的意境。诗中的一切，无不具有生命，带有情感。这是因为戎昱对湖上亭的一草一木是如此深情，以致在他眼里不只是自己不忍与柳条、藤蔓、黄莺作别，柳条、藤蔓、黄莺也象他一样无限痴情，难舍难分。他视花鸟为挚友，达到了物我交融、彼此两忘的地步，故能忧乐与共，灵犀相通，发而为诗，才能出语如此天真，诗趣这般盎然。
这首诗的用字，非常讲究情味。用“系”字抒写不忍离去之情，正好切合柳条、藤蔓修长的特点，又写出柳条藤蔓牵衣拉裾的动作，又符合春日和风拂拂的情景，表现它们依恋主人不忍主人离去的深情。用“啼”字既符合黄莺鸣叫的特点，又似殷殷挽留、凄凄惜别，让人联想到离别的眼泪。这种拟人化的写法也被后人广泛采用。“啼”字既指黄莺的啼叫，又似殷殷挽留、凄凄惜别，也容易使人联想到辞别时离人伤心的啼哭。一个“啼”字，兼言情景两面，而且体物传神，似有无穷笔力，正是斫轮老手的高妙之处。

戎昱，(744～800)唐代诗人。荆州（今湖北江陵）人，郡望扶风（今属陕西）。少年举进士落第，游名都山川，后中进士。宝应元年(762)，从滑州、洛阳西行，经华阴，遇见王季友，同赋《苦哉行》。大历二年(767)秋回故乡，在荆南节度使卫伯玉幕府中任从事。后流寓湖南，为潭州刺史崔瓘、桂州刺史李昌巙幕僚。建中三年(782)居长安，任侍御史。翌年贬为辰州刺史。后又任虔州刺史。晚年在湖南零陵任职，流寓桂州而终。中唐前期比较注重反映现实的诗人之一。名作《苦哉行》写战争给人民带来灾难。羁旅游宦、感伤身世的作品以《桂州腊夜》较有名。
