译文
高耸的群峰寒气逼人，一座佛寺屹立在山顶。
疏疏的树木漏下几点星光，月亮迎着行云匆匆前行。
高山绝顶来人稀少，苍松在林中犹如鹤立鸡群。
一位年过八十的老僧，从未听说过世间所发生的事情。
注释
众岫：群山。岫：峰峦。
精庐：这里指佛寺。
流星透疏木：写出了从疏落的树枝空隙之间，看见夜空的流星划过的景象。
走月逆行云：写出了月亮之侧云朵漂移，云行而反似月走，云与月看似逆向而行的画面。
宿山寺鉴赏
贾岛的《宿山寺》载于《全唐诗》卷五百七十三。全篇一山，一寺，一星，一水，一月，一云，一松，一鹤，一僧，来此一宿，不禁烦襟涤尽，皈依之念顿生。众岫之寒，流星之烁，林木之疏，走月之逆，片云之行，松巢之高，仙鹤之不群，老僧之混沌，契合一体，诗人的笔意，地僻境清，远离俗世，胸襟高洁，超群之致，随手拈来，流露于字里行间，实在令人叹而观止。
起笔从视觉形象写起：群峰高耸，山，无需多着墨，用一“寒”，其色自青，翠色浮空，透出一片寒意；而“耸”字极神，山高，峰极为挺拔。诗人投宿的寺院就坐落在群峰环绕的一座山峰的绝顶之上。作者用了水墨画的技法，勾画出山寺孤峙高寒的特点。
颔联始见奇笔，“流星透疏水”，星本不动，影落水中，水流而反似繁星流动，流淌中，繁星随水而逝，非是夜空中闪亮划过夜空之流星，空明澄净，引人入胜。最奇者，诗人竟把水分为疏和密，疏而能透，繁星倒影水中，厚密则显浊混，难以透莹光也。诗人之所以称为诗人，其感觉必异于常人的。月本不移，而片云飘移，云行而反似月走，且为两物相逆而行，诗人短短五字，尽也。观察之细致，构想之奇瑰，非一颗敏感之心性不能为之，令人拍案叫绝。这两句的妙处渲染出空山幽寂清玲的气氛，有力地衬托了山寺的凄冷荒寂。
五、六句从自然景观转人人事议论。“绝顶人来少”，是说山寺因在绝顶而人迹罕至，揭示了山寺的远离市尘。“高松鹤不群”，写独鹤单栖高松之上。鹤为仙禽，青霄遗举，不于鸡鸳为伍，本即离尘脱俗，益以古刹旁之高松，巢在其上，倍显其了无俗气，卓尔不群。松鹤在古典诗文中，常作为高洁与长寿的象征，现在看到松鹤，自然使人想到植松养鹤之人。这就为下面写寺中高僧作了铺垫。
尾联两句，写寺中只有一位八十岁高僧，虽然久经春秋，却双足未曾落于尘世，一直与世无争。读到这里，回头再看“绝顶人来少，高松鹤不群”二句，正是展现了具有象征意味的这位僧人的生活环境。推之全诗，可以看出，有此众岫环抱空寂之山，才有此绝顶孤峙之寺，有此绝顶孤峙之寺，才有此超然世外之僧；而身临其境，投宿其寺，亲见其僧者，唯有诗人一人而已。如是，诗人的襟怀意趣不言可知。这正是作者立意的高明之处。

贾岛（779～843年），字浪（阆）仙，唐代诗人。汉族，唐朝河北道幽州范阳县（今河北省涿州市）人。早年出家为僧，号无本。自号“碣石山人”。据说在洛阳的时候后因当时有命令禁止和尚午后外出，贾岛做诗发牢骚，被韩愈发现其才华。后受教于韩愈，并还俗参加科举，但累举不中第。唐文宗的时候被排挤，贬做长江主簿。唐武宗会昌年初由普州司仓参军改任司户，未任病逝。
