深林几处啼鹃，梦如烟。直到梦难寻处倍缠绵。蝶自舞，莺自语，总凄然。明月空庭如水似华年。
相见欢·深林几处啼鹃鉴赏
庄棫此首《相见欢》词是一首写美人“春愁”的有味之作，表现的是暮春时分美人梦醒之后的一种缠绵和凄凉之感。
词的上片写的是鹃啼惊梦、梦醒缠绵时的情绪。起韵写深林里飘来的几声鹃啼，惊醒了因思念太久、太深而终于形诸梦寐的闺中人，好梦也就犹如一缕轻烟一般飘散无痕。这里并不着一字诉说遗憾，而做梦人深深的遗憾如可呼吸得到。在构思方面，此处受到了唐代诗人金昌绪《春怨》诗里“黄莺惊梦”的启发，而又更为巧妙。因为鹃啼声好像就是在说“不如归去”，比起百啭莺啼，似乎是有要借鸟语转达要行人归来的意思。“直到”一句，写她在梦醒之后的不甘和恋梦心情。梦已然散去如烟，无法寻觅，她犹悬浮在如梦的情绪里，更加如痴如醉地缠绵。这种特殊时分的特殊感受又有多少人感受过呢？而词人却在此捕捉得绘神绘色。可惜梦中的美满遇合和梦醒之后的痴迷与留恋都不足以改变无情的现实，梦中的情景反而增加了梦醒后的痛楚。
词的下片以上片作为对照，传写出女主人公在梦醒之后面对春光融融景象的悲戚之感。过片“蝶自舞，莺自语，总凄然”三个短句，联翩而下，却又转折有致。在春日温暖的阳光下，彩蝶在快乐地飞舞，黄莺在自怡地啭鸣，这美丽到极致的春天，却不能给予她一丁点的安慰，她是一直处在凄凉的感受里，难以自拔。季节的美，因为与她的生命状态极不相融，反倒成了残酷的对照。结尾一句，由日转到夜，将春夜明媚的月光作为传递感情的桥梁：春夜的月色有如银白色的水，泻在美人幽居的空庭里；由这水样的月光，她想到了流水，也想到了自己如水一般流逝不已的美好的青春年华。要知青春年华的虚耗，那就是生命的虚耗啊！这个除了思念与做梦就无事可做、无处激情的深闺思妇，她的生命状态是多么的可悲啊！词人在此对于“水”的意向的运用尤其巧妙。它已经不是一个原始的意象，而能够自然地实现由月光意象到华年的抒情联想。

庄棫（1830——1878 ），字中白，一字利叔，清代词人，学者，号东庄，又号蒿庵。丹徒人，生于道光十年（1830）。光绪四年（一八七八）卒。享年四十九岁。著有《蒿庵遗稿》，词甲、乙稿及补遗附焉。
