漠漠春阴酒半酣。风透春衫，雨透春衫。人家蚕事欲眠三。桑满筐篮，柘满筐篮。
先自离怀百不堪。樯燕呢喃，梁燕呢喃。篝灯强把锦书看。人在江南，心在江南。
一剪梅·漠漠春阴酒半酣鉴赏
这首词写作者对江南的怀念。上片写景，作者用清丽洗炼的语言生动描绘出一幅清新明丽的江南春天的图画：暮春时节，春阴漠漠，春风春雨吹透了、打湿了轻柔的春衫。此时春蚕已快三眠，养蚕的人家怀着即将收获的喜悦心情采摘得桑、柘叶满篮，把蚕喂得饱饱的。这是江南暮春时节所特有的景象，显得生机盎然。
作者在将春色渲染了一番之后，下片换转笔峰，折入游子的怀乡之情。“先自离怀百不堪”一句，真切地表达了离乡怀乡的深沉愁苦，还点明了原来上片所着力描写的并不是眼前所见之景，而只是记忆中印象最深的江南风景画，反衬出离人深切的思念。回忆增添了离愁，已使人不堪；而眼前飞停在船樯上呢喃不休的燕子又勾起对家中屋梁栖燕的怀思。既不能“如同梁上燕，岁岁长相见”（冯延已《长命女》“三愿”），则唯有灯下细看那不知读了多少遍的家书，聊以慰情。信是江南的亲人写来的，作者的心也随之飞回了江南。“篝灯”，用竹笼罩着灯光，即点起灯笼。“锦书”用前秦苏蕙织锦为回之旋图诗寄丈夫的典，这里说明信是妻子寄来的。“强”字入妙：盖此家书，看一回即引起一回别意愁情，心所不欲，但思家时又忍不住要翻出来看，故曰勉强看之，矛盾心情如见。歇拍两句“人在江南，心在江南”，一则抒发了作者对亲人和故乡的深切眷恋之情，同时呼应了上片的景物描写，使之带上了更加浓烈的感情色彩。
