译文
夜宿金陵渡口的小山楼，辗转难眠心中满怀旅愁。
斜月朦胧江潮正在下落，对岸星火闪闪便是瓜洲。
注释
金陵渡：渡口名，在今江苏省镇江市附近。
津：渡口。小山楼：渡口附近小楼，作者住宿之处。
宿：过夜。行人：旅客，指作者自己。可：当。
斜月：下半夜偏西的月亮。星火：形容远处三三两两像星星一样闪烁的火光。
瓜州：在长江北岸，今江苏省邗江县南部，与镇江市隔江相对，向来是长江南北水运的交通要冲。
题金陵渡鉴赏
这是诗人漫游江南时写的一首小诗。张祜夜宿镇江渡口时，面对长江夜景，以此诗抒写了在旅途中的愁思，表现了自己心中的寂寞凄凉。全诗语言朴素自然，把美妙如画的江上夜景描写得宁静凄迷，淡雅清新。
“金陵津渡小山楼”，此“金陵渡”在镇江，非指南京。“小山楼”是诗人当时寄居之地。首句点题，开门见山。
“一宿行人自可愁”，用一“可”字，轻灵妥贴，“可”当作“合”解，而比“合”字轻松。
这两句是引子，起笔平淡而轻松，接着便很自然地将读者引入佳境。
“潮落夜江斜月里”，诗人站在小山楼上远望夜江，只见天边月已西斜，江上寒潮初落。
一团漆黑的夜江之上，本无所见，而诗人却在朦胧的西斜月光中，观赏到潮落之景。用一“斜”字，妙极，既有景，又点明了时间——将晓未晓的落潮之际；与上句“一宿”呼应，暗中透露出行人那一宿不曾成寐的信息。所以，此句与第二句自然地沟连。诗人用笔轻灵而细腻，在精工镂刻中，又不显斧凿之迹，显得浑然无痕。
落潮的夜江浸在斜月的光照里，在烟笼寒水的背景上，忽见远处有几点星火闪烁，诗人不由随口吟出：“两三星火是瓜洲。”将远景一点染，这幅美妙的夜江画也告完成。试看“两三星火”，用笔何其萧洒空灵，动人情处不须多，“两三”足矣。“一寸二寸之鱼，三竿两竿之竹”，宜乎以少胜多，点染有致，然而也是实景，那“两三星火”点缀在斜月朦胧的夜江之上，显得格外明亮。那个地方“是瓜洲”。这个地名与首句“金陵渡”相应，达到首尾圆合。此外，这三字还蕴藏着诗人的惊喜和慨叹，传递出一种悠远的情调。
这首诗的境界，清美之至，宁静之至。那两三星火与斜月、夜江明暗相映衬，融成一体，如一幅淡墨山水画。
