水色帘前流玉霜，赵家飞燕侍昭阳。
掌中舞罢箫声绝，三十六宫秋夜长。

译文
晶莹如水的珠帘里月光皎洁，晃动着美女的身姿，赵家飞燕在昭阳宫侍奉君王。
欢乐歌舞后箫声中止，三十六宫清冷下来，宫女们感到秋夜的漫长。
注释
水色帘：珠帘，因晶莹如水，故称。
玉霜：白色的霜。一说指女子美好的容貌。流玉霜：谓月光皎洁如霜，流泻于地。
赵家飞燕：即赵飞燕，为汉成帝妃子名，住在昭阳殿。
昭阳：汉宫殿名，成帝时赵飞燕居之。唐人宫怨诗中常用汉宫以指代唐代宫殿。
掌中舞：在人掌上跳舞。相传赵飞燕可作掌上舞蹈。
箫声绝：洞箫发出的旋律停了下来。
三十六宫：许多的宫殿。三十六，不是确数。
秋夜长：秋天夜晚时间长，也指人在寂寞之时，感到时间长。

汉宫曲创作背景
徐凝宪宗元和年及第，与白居易在元和十四年（公元819）已有交往，而于长庆三年（公元823）时白居易为杭州刺史，徐凝、张祜同往较文，白居易举徐凝屈张祜。徐凝获解元，长庆初曾至长安应试，因不善干谒，终失意而归。于是自嘲“天下无人重布衣” 、“ 白头游子白身归”，这首诗应作于同一时期。
