译文
雪白的双手常常弯着，累苦了十指纤纤。两道眉毛淡若远山，低低地压迫眉间。心中早已有说不完的愁烦，猛然听得门外传来卖花的叫唤，顿时停住了绣针，忘了把线穿。
注释
玉纤：女子的手。春葱：喻女子手指。
远山：妇女的眉式。因望之淡如远山而名。
绒：指绣线。
天净沙·为董针姑作鉴赏
《全唐诗》有朱绛的《春女怨》：“独坐纱窗刺绣迟，紫荆花下啭黄鹂。欲知无限伤春意，尽在停针不语时。”朱绛存诗仅此一首，却因末句巧妙的构思留名诗坛。本曲也多少受到了这首小诗的影响。
“玉纤”与“春葱”、“远山”与“眉峰”本属于同一类概念，诗人将它们分拆开来，间以“屈损”、“压损”的词语，“损”是无复旧貌的意思。这样的安排，便带上了一种昔今对照的意味，较之直言“屈损春葱”、“压损眉峰”，更觉婉曲深沉；而“玉纤”、“远山”的拈出，也暗示出主角董针姑的年轻柔美。针姑是对针线女子的称呼，因其飞针走线，所以作者先从其“春葱”寓目入手。所以起首两句，展示了一名年轻女子一边擢弄着纤纤素手做针线活，一边愁眉紧蹙、似有无限心事的形象。
第三句承上启下。“闲愁万种”是对“屈损”、“压损”的小结，“早是”则为领起下文留出了地步。“闲愁”究竟是为了什么作者没有讲，也不易讲，因为平平地叙述解释，难以与上文楚楚动人的愁态匹配平衡。妙在诗人抓住了一个小小的镜头，让这位针线女子停住了手，“绣针儿不待穿绒”。绒即“茸”，是刺绣专用的丝线，因其茸散可以分擘而得名。引起这一变化的原因是听到了门外的卖花声，这无疑是春天来临的信号。诗人在句前加上了一个“忽”字，显示了董针姑此前一直沉浸在愁思之中。猛然意识到春天，不禁停止绣作，于是这其间的感春、伤春、怀春、惜春，自怜青春，自念人生，这种种的意境便俱在读者意中了。这较之朱绛的“欲知无限伤春意，尽在停针不语中”显然更为含蓄、隽永，有青出于蓝之妙。

吕止庵，别有吕止轩，疑即一人。生卒、经历不详。散曲作品内容感时悲秋，自伤落拓不遇，间有兴亡之感，可能是一宋亡不仕的遗民。明·朱权《太和正音谱》评其词"如晴霞结绮"。以后庭花十首得盛名。今存北词谱及阳春白雪中。所做散曲作品现存小令三十三首，套数四套。
