始余于官舍营东轩，彭城曹君焕子文，自浮光访余于高安，道过黄冈，家兄子瞻以诗送之曰：“君到高安几日回，一时抖薮旧尘埃。
赠君一笼牢收取，盛取东轩长老来。
”君过庐山，见圆通知慎禅师，出诗示之。
师尝与余通书，见之欣然。
明日谓君：“昨见黄州诗，通夕不寐，以一偈继之，曰：‘东轩长老未相逢，却见黄州一信通。
何用扬眉资目击，须知千里事同风。
’吾野人，不能数为书，君为我诵之而已。
”君既至，未暇及此。
客有自庐山至者，曰：“慎师送客出门，还入丈室燕坐而寂。
”君乃具道其事。
余感之，作二绝。
其一以答子瞻，其二以答慎也。
东轩正似虚空样，何处人家笼解盛。
纵使盛来无著处，雪堂自有老师兄。
〈子瞻新筑东坡雪堂。
〉檐头挑得黄州笼，行过圆通一笑开。
却到山前人已寂，亦无一物可担回。

苏辙（1039—1112年），字子由，汉族，眉州眉山（今属四川）人。嘉祐二年（1057）与其兄苏轼同登进士科。神宗朝，为制置三司条例司属官。因反对王安石变法，出为河南推官。哲宗时，召为秘书省校书郎。元祐元年为右司谏，历官御史中丞、尚书右丞、门下侍郎因事忤哲宗及元丰诸臣，出知汝州，贬筠州、再谪雷州安置，移循州。徽宗立，徙永州、岳州复太中大夫，又降居许州，致仕。自号颍滨遗老。卒，谥文定。唐宋八大家之一，与父洵、兄轼齐名，合称三苏。
