危言耸听的典故

有一次，东晋顾恺之和桓玄，在建康殷仲堪家中谈笑取乐。他们约定说“危语”（用一句话形容一个非常危险的情况）。桓玄说：“矛头秫米剑头炊。”这句话的意思是把矛和利剑的尖头当米煮饭吃；殷仲堪说：“百岁老翁攀枯枝。”意思是说年过百岁的老头悬挂在枯萎的树枝上；顾恺之说：“井上轱辘卧婴儿。”井上的轱辘容易滚动，婴儿躺在上面非常危险。后人就把这种夸大形式吓唬人叫做危言耸听。
