宋太祖赵匡胤原为周世宗手下的都点检，周世宗死后，周恭帝即位，赵匡胤掌握兵权。960年，北汉和契丹侵略中原，赵匡胤率军还击，驻军陈桥时，将士将一件黄袍披在赵匡胤身上，拥立他为皇帝，建立宋朝。
